Dr. Kevin Mo Senior Sustainable Building Specialist, Natural Resources Defense Council - China Dr. Kevin Mo is a senior sustainable building specialist with the Natural Resources Defense Council’s office in Beijing, where he focuses on eco-cities and low-carbon cities as well as sustainable building in China. His 16 years of experience in the field includes building solutions to climate change, building energy efficiency, international building policy analysis. and green buildings. Prior to joining the NRDC in 2008, he spent six years working for the U.S. National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center in Maryland on building energy efficiency and renewable energy. At the NAHB, he managed the EnergyValue Housing Award for U.S. Department of Energy’s Building America Program and won the U.S. Energy and Environmental Building Association Legacy Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, and a master’s degree in engineering in building science from Tsinghua University in Beijing. He earned his Ph.D. in Building Performance and Diagnostics from Carnegie Mellon University in the U.S. Dr. Mo was a lecturer in building science at Tsinghua from 1994 to 1997, and won the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Chinese Ministry of Culture for a feasibility study on the National Center for the Performing Arts. He is a committee member of the China Green Building Council and a think tank member of the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Sustainable Building and Climate Change. His personal achievements include publishing "Inside Out American Football,” the first book in China introducing American football and serving as a Super Bowl commentator for a Chinese media outlet. |
