Bert de Muynck Co-Director, MovingCities Bert de Muynck is an architect, writer, and co-director of MovingCities, a think tank based in Beijing whose work focuses on how the practices of architecture and urbanism affect the city. Since 2006, he has lived and worked in Beijing. De Muynck’s writings have been widely published in magazines like Volume, Mark Magazine, Domus, Urban China, Commercial Real Estate in China and City. In 2005, he lectured at the XXII World Congress of Architecture, UIA in Istanbul, Turkey, and at the FUIUF conference at Fudan University in 2006. Between 2005 and 2007, he was invited as a critical respondent to the Capital Cities Research Program at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In 2007, he joined Ned Rossiter, an Australian media theorist, and Mónica Carriço, architect, researcher and director of MovingCities, coordinator of the “Transdisciplinary Research on Creative Industries in Beijing – Mobile Research Laboratory,” in MovingCities. |
