Checklist for Continuing Students

Make sure to check off at the start of every semester!

  • Applying for financial aid? Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). (U.S. citizens and permanent residents only). New York State Residents can also apply for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). Remember, even if you have applied for aid in the past, you need to ensure that you have a current FAFSA containing NYIT's school code (002782). If you have any questions please contact the Student Solutions Center (SSC).
    • You can download the FAFSA and TAP applications from the Financial Aid Web pages.
    • Check for any financial aid documentation that may be incomplete and any registration blocks on your NYITConnect account.
       
  • Notify the Financial Aid Office of any changes in your enrollment status. A change in enrollment status (from full-time to part-time, for example) could affect your financial aid package. Visit the SSC to report any changes in your enrollment status. If you are unsure how to finance your NYIT education, please contact the SSC at 5163686.7878 to construct a financial plan.
     
  • Review your eBill on NYITConnect. This should be done approximately two weeks before the start of the term. If you have any questions, contact the Office of the Bursar.
     
  • Comply with NYIT's continuing health insurance policies. All international and full-time students must be in compliance. For details, go to the Office of Counseling and Wellness.
     
  • Print your schedule. Log in to your NYITConnect account to view and print your schedule
     
  • Stay connected with your Student Solutions Center Manager - your one stop resource for any questions or assistance you may need at NYIT.
     
  • Review Add/Drop policies. You are permitted to add and drop courses as well as sections during the add/drop period listed in the Academic Calendar. You must consult with an advisor and complete an Add/Drop Form before the end of the second week of the semester.
