Training

  • The Academic Computing Department provides assistance to the faculty on each of the campuses of the New York Institute of Technology. Faculty are encouraged to seek Dr. Mike Uttendorfer for training and pedagogical assistance.

  • If you are looking for the NYIT Faculty and Staff Enrichment courses that are offered each semester, please contact the NYIT Human Resources department at 516.686.7667.

 

Development Rooms

  • Faculty development rooms are available at each campus for faculty use. For entrance into these rooms, please see an ACL staff member at your campus.
  • Rooms all have Internet access, ADMIN network email, Datatel and MS OFFICE suite. Old Westbury currently houses our Faculty Scantron machine.

    • Old Westbury Locations - Harry Schure Hall, Rm B25A and Wisser Library, Rm 306
    • Manhattan Location - 1855 Broadway, 12th floor
       

Deadlines for New Software Installations

The Academic Computing Services department requires faculty to submit requests for new or changes in software to us, in writing, by the dates listed below. In order to schedule, plan and test we ask faculty to please plan ahead and alert us as soon as possible to any changes or additions to the software they will be using in class.

  • Fall Semesters - July 15
  • Spring Semesters - Nov. 15
  • Summer Semesters - April 15

The staff in Academic Computing understand some faculty are assigned courses late and are unable to meet the deadlines listed and every attempt to accommodate them will be made. Please contact us directly for more information.
