Culinary Arts
Culinary arts focuses on the skills
and knowledge necessary to work in
the hospitality field as a chef,
executive chef, sous chef or pastry
chef. All chefs require extensive
knowledge of food preparation
techniques, food safety, proper use of kitchen equipment and technological advances in food preparation. They should also develop strong communication skills, kitchen and restaurant operations and an understanding of the role food plays in different cultures.
