Hermine Plotnick, MA, OTR/L Chair and Associate Professor Department of Occupational Therapy (516) 686-3738 hplotnic@nyit.edu Professor Plotnick has extensive clinical experience in psychiatry and physical rehabilitation, administration and education. She established the occupational therapy programs at LaGuardia Community College and York College, both of City University of New York. Her teaching experience includes LaGuardia Community College, Columbia University, York College and SUNY Farmingdale. She is the founding Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy, New York Institute of Technology. Tamara Avi-Itzhak, D. Sc. Associate Professor Department of Occupational Therapy (516) 686-3872 taviitzh@nyit.edu Dr. Avi-Itzhak has seventeen years of experience teaching in graduate programs in occupational therapy (New York University and Touro College) and is a research consultant to Seton Hall University, New Jersey Graduate School of Medical Education. She is the author of multiple publications and has presented at many international, national and state conferences. Elizabeth M. Chiariello, MS, OTR/L Assistant Professor Department of Occupational Therapy (516) 686-3863 echiarie@nyit.edu Professor Chiariello has extensive clinical experience in physical disabilities, ergonomics, work hardening, pain management and work injury management outreach programs. She has taught for more than eight years, presented on national and state levels, and holds various local, state and national positions in professional organizations. Lisa F. Gordon, MA, OTR/L Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (516) 686-3862 lgordon@nyit.edu Professor Gordon has clinical experience in various community adult and pediatric psychiatry settings, cultural issues related to disability, homelessness, the mentally ill, and OT practice. Her teaching experience includes Russell Sage and New York University. Doris Richard Obler, CSW, BS, OTR/L Associate Professor Department of Occupational Therapy (516) 686-3738 dobler@nyit.edu Professor Obler has extensive clinical experience in pediatrics, psychosocial dysfunction, and treatment of AIDS complicated by a history of substance abuse. She has presented on international, national and state levels. |
