The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at NYIT has a dedicated classroom/laboratory with audio-visual equipment, X-Ray Viewing Box, two electrocardiograph machines, and various human patient simulator models used for skills training. A state-of-the-art standardized patient laboratory has been developed for use by medical and physician assistant students to enhance skill acquisition. A cadaver lab provides a valuable hands-on approach to learning anatomy.
The entire campus has wireless capability. Technology has been highly integrated into the curriculum. Students also have access to several on-campus computer lab sites and study rooms. The Academic Computing Labs (ACL) provide assistance for computer-related problems in Harry Schure Hall.
NYIT's libraries provide an outstanding resource for the physician assistant faculty and students. Students can take advantage of a large selection of books and journals in the medical school (NYCOM) library. Also, students have online access to databases, e-journals, and books both on campus and at home via password access.
