Lawrence Herman, assistant professor of physician assistant studies, made a series of presentations at a continuing medical education program sponsored by the Practicing Clinicians Exchange on Dec. 1 in Melville, N.Y.
Salvatore Barese, Ed.D., chairperson of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, has been appointed chair of the Governance Committee of the Physician Assistant Education Association.
Lawrence Herman, assistant professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, had an article, "Sounding Board: A Walk Through Never Never Land," published in the June 2007 edition of the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. The article details his wife's successful battle against breast cancer.

The commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.

Conference attendees included Acting Surgeon General Kenneth P. Moritsugu and Director of the National Human Genomics Research Institute Francis Collins.

Frank Acevedo, assistant professor, also participated in the conference.
