Directions to the NYIT PA Program

Getting Here

  • The NYIT PA Program is located at the Old Westbury campus on Long Island, New York.

  • Please read this current page first, before clicking to the following website, which contains all directions to the campus: http://www.nyit.edu/locations/old_westbury/

  •  A campus map is available at: http://www.nyit.edu/images/uploads/about/Map-Old-Westbury.pdf   (Riland Center, where our offices are located, is labeled F1 on the map).

  • Please park your car in the adjacent South Parking lot (indicated on the campus map).   A temporary dashboard parking permit tag must be displayed. Please contact the PA program at pa@nyit.edu if you have not received a dashboard tag.  Even with a dashboard tag, please avoid sections specifically marked for patients, white-lined faculty & staff parking; and blue-lined handicap spots.

  • The college’s official address is not suitable for GPS, and please note that entering "NYIT" into the GPS unit may lead you to the wrong campus.  Instead, please use the tips on this page to use your GPS and for directions to the campus:  http://www.nyit.edu/locations/old_westbury/  .

  • GPS coordinates for the parking lot in front of Riland Center are:  40 48.535 - 073 36.306

  • On Google Maps, the entrance to the campus can be found by searching the following intersection: Northern Blvd & Valentines Ln, Old Brookville, NY 11545. Have the campus map ready to assist in navigating through the campus.

  • Most domestic flights arrive at LaGuardia Airport, but JetBlue and some Delta flights arrive at JFK Airport.  Both airports are of equal distance to NYIT Old Westbury and surrounding towns.   The taxi fare is usually around $60 - $70. Be sure to only catch taxis from the official taxi stands at the airport, and obtain a confirmation of the total fare before boarding the taxi. There should be no additional charge for luggage. Click here for the NYC Taxi Riders Bill of Rights: http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/passenger/taxicab_rights.shtml

  • If you are planning to take the train, please visit this website to find out which Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station is the closest to NYIT’s Old Westbury campus: http://www.nyit.edu/locations/old_westbury/#train.

    • We suggest taking the LIRR to Hicksville (Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches) and then taking a taxi or Long Island Bus N20 to campus (weekdays only for buses).  Before boarding the N20 check with the conductor that he will stop by the NYIT campus (not to be confused with SUNY Old Westbury!), and ask his/her assistance in telling you when to get off (if the bus does not have a electronic announcement system).

    • Whatever station you choose, you may need to call the following taxi companies to transport you from the station to the campus:
      • Delux Transportation: 516-883-1900
      • All Seasons Taxi : 516-333-3131

    • Inform the taxi operator that you need to go to New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, specifically to the Riland Health Center (also known as NYCOM 2).

    • Print this map, to assist the driver: http://goo.gl/maps/NZsev

    • And have the campus map ready, to ensure you arrive at the correct building: http://www.nyit.edu/images/uploads/about/Map-Old-Westbury.pdf

  • A list of hotels in the area is available at: http://iris.nyit.edu/paprogram/Suzana/Area_Hotels.htm.  You may also refer to this map of hotels in the area: http://goo.gl/maps/wKdYc.  Please note that these are only suggestions and NYIT assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of these websites or accommodations. We are unable to make specific recommendations, and it’s wise to check each hotel’s ratings online.
