Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Director of Faculty Development will develop and deliver programs designed to enhance the quality of instruction and student evaluation in NYCOM’s curricula; support faculty activities directed toward student-centered/active-learner approaches to education; track and analyze measurements related to faculty, instructional and course effectiveness through surveys and direct classroom observations. The successful candidate will also advise faculty concerning “best practices” in medical education; maintain faculty information in preparation of accreditation visits and reviews; cultivate opportunities for faculty to participate in professional society meetings, workshops, and related events.
Qualifications
A doctorate degree in instruction, curriculum design or education leadership and five-plus years of progressively responsible experience in medical education with an emphasis on teaching, is required. Candidates must also possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer (MS Office) skills.
