Responsibilities

NYIT seeks a part-time Teacher for the Vocational Independence Program at our Central Islip Campus to teach critical thinking classes, curriculum development, independent living skills training and provide academic advisement. The Vocational Independence Program includes residential post-secondary programs for teenagers and adults classified as having “high-functioning” developmental and learning disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of two years previous teaching experience in a special education program and a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Education or Social Work.
