Getting involved is a great way to make the best of your college experience. Whether you want to join a club focusing on an area in which you are already talented or want to try something new, becoming active is a great way to make friends and broaden your experiences.
Student Life Organization
NYIT’s Student Life Organization (SLO) is staffed by an elected board of student representatives who are tasked with promoting activities that enrich student life, including hosting charity drives, dramas, and campus-wide programs. Elections are held annually.
The SLO publishes a quarterly magazine that invites entries—essays, art, and photography—from all interested students.

Clubs
New clubs are being established all the time. Here are descriptions of some of the clubs that NYIT students can join at the Jordan campus. The Search for Wisdom is for students interested in exploring the world of philosophy. Poetic Explorations focuses on poetry, both by published poets and by NYIT students. The NYIT Book Club focuses on short stories, novels, and movie scripts. The NYIT Logic Club distributes weekly mind games and offers rewards to consecutive winners.
These clubs provide students with an intellectual and artistic outlet for their unique ideas and thoughts. They also provide a framework within which students can meet peers who share their intellectual pursuits.
Clubs meet once every week, on Tuesdays from 6 – 7 p.m. For more information, call 0777672793.
Sports
Join one of NYIT’s sports teams—including soccer and basketball—to compete against athletes from all over Jordan. When the soccer field or basketball court isn’t being used by one of the teams, they are available for students who want to take a break from their studies. For more information, call 0795060909.
Music
Students who have a musical talent will also find that a number of bands are available to join. For more information, call 0795388211.
