Message From Associate Dean Petra Dilling
Welcome and thank you for considering NYIT's Vancouver campus as the gateway to your future. NYIT has a proud history of achievement, as evidenced by its graduates, its academic programs, and its campuses around the world.
Founded in 1955 as a private not-for-profit university, NYIT has campuses in Manhattan, Long Island, the Middle East, China, and here in Vancouver. The university’s long-term strategic plan includes a goal for NYIT to be a global university by the year 2030. Within this global university, students will be able to move among campuses with complete internal transferability of credits and graduate with the same NYIT degree from any campus. Already, students can study for their general M.B.A. in Vancouver and complete a concentration in New York, as several have already done. We also have students beginning the program at NYIT’s Amman, Jordan, campus and finishing in Vancouver — with no loss in credits or time — with the same NYIT degree.
Vancouver is part of this grand vision of a global university. Our goal is to be a graduate center offering primarily graduate degrees with some associated post-graduate specialist diplomas. We currently offer the M.B.A. program and plan to offer other programs in the near future.
I am particularly proud of our Vancouver presence. We have recently changed our management structure to conform to NYIT’s global 2030 vision, with all data, funds, and processes handled by NYIT in New York. The Vancouver campus is, in essence, just like the New York campuses — just a few thousand kilometers away.
Between us, we share a continent and have a presence in both Atlantic and Pacific gateway cities: New York, one of the planet’s greatest cities, combined with Vancouver, one of the world's most beautiful, livable cities. I am looking forward to welcoming you to NYIT in Vancouver.
