The academic medicine scholarship of NYIT's New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) is designed to prepare outstanding medical students to pursue careers in academic medicine, including medical education, research, and clinical practice in an academic health-care setting.

The scholars spend an extra year of experiential training in research, teaching and practice and undertake several projects. Second year NYCOM students in good standing may apply for this competitive program.
