NYCOM has been awarded a Health Careers Opportunity Program Grant (HCOP) by the U.S. government that puts the college in a unique position to open the doors of opportunity for economically and educationally disadvantaged students. The HCOP funding will support a substantial expansion of NYCOM's excellent record of producing primary care physicians who practice in underserved areas and allow critical additions to retention programs.
Ultimately, the HCOP program supports NYCOM's education of diverse students from disadvantaged backgrounds to address the current and future demands of health care for our entire population.
NYCOM is in the midst of some enormously exciting transitions ... installing new technologies in our classrooms, adding new standardized patient and robotic facilities, upgrading our research resources, and undergoing a major curriculum redesign ... all of which make for a dynamic time here at NYCOM. We want you to be an integral part of it. Please join us in transforming our proud past into an even more vibrant future.
