Gallery 61

Gallery 61

Welcome to Gallery 61. If we ignore the history of art and design, we risk re-inventing mediocrity. It is the review of historical work that can help us design visionary solutions for the future. Gallery 61 showcases both historical and contemporary work as a way of honing design theories crucial to future technological solutions.

We engage the entire NYIT community by exhibiting work of students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as well-known and emerging artists. The exhibitions include painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, film, and performances.

Current Exhibit

beyond: Sculptures by Louise Manzon
April 12 - June 3, 2016

Louise Manzon expands on one of her most creative themes: the archetypes of Greek mythology. Manzon’s work explores various aspects of these classic symbols, including female figures and their role as the watchful guardians of life’s secrets, sea creatures and the vitality of natural environments, the perils that threaten those creatures, and the hope for their preservation.
