GO Summer NURSE
GO Project Mission
The GO Project shapes the futures of low-income New York City public school children by providing critical academic, social and emotional support starting in the early elementary years. GO provides year-round educational and family support services to children who are performing below grade level and equips them with the confidence and skills needed to succeed at school, at home and in life.
GO Summer is a rigorous, five-week classroom program with a staff of certified teachers, specialists (Math, Reading, ESL and Speech), enrichment teachers, teaching assistants and numerous volunteer aides. Students attend five days a week from 9AM to 5PM for a full day of academic and enrichment classes. Class size is deliberately kept small with a maximum of 14 students. Each morning, students concentrate on intensive reading, writing, math, and test prep with a focus on the specific areas where each student requires improvement. In the afternoon, the students enjoy enrichment classes in subjects ranging from art and music to computers and physical education. GO Project’s content-rich, varied program helps build self-confidence along with academic performance.
The GO Project is seeking a certified nurse for the GO Summer program. The nurse will provide medical assistance for students in grades K – 8. The program runs from July 7 to August 8, 2014. The hours will be 8:00am to 6:00pm for the first week and 9:00am to 5:00pm for the remaining four weeks of GO Summer. GO Summer uses the facilities and classrooms of the Grace Church School which is located at 86 Fourth Avenue.
The GO Project Summer Nurse will be responsible for the following tasks:
Qualifications: Certified Nurse
Salary: $25.00 hr
Dates: July 7-August 8 (2014)
