Part of the Best
Jennifer Lee Gracia (B.S. '09) along with 22 members of The Behavioral Health Team at VNSNY were recently recognized as the Best Nursing Team of 2012 from ADVANCE for Nurses
Magazine. What began 5 years ago as a pilot program to address depression in the home care setting has since grown into a multifaceted program serving seven regions thanks to a dedicated team of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) nurses. Jennifer joined the team while participating in a nine-month VNSNY RN internship program. She and 17 other RN interns were later recognized at the Annual VNSNY Internship Completion Ceremony on October 5, 2011. Jennifer is psychiatric nurse at VNSNY providing behavioral health services and care to the home care setting.

Thierry Marcellin (B.S. '09) plans to graduate this spring semester, earning his bachelor's degree in nursing. He is looking forward to NYIT Commencement as well as the Nursing Department's pinning ceremony, a tradition in the profession that dates to the 19th century.
