Jerry Bailey Joins NYIT Board of Trustees

September 10, 2015

Jerome H. (Jerry) Bailey, an executive with four decades of experience across the financial services industry, is the newest addition to NYIT’s board of trustees. Bailey, who recently retired as an operational chief financial officer (CFO) at Citigroup, brings to the university extensive international experience and breadth of leadership expertise gained in a range of environments across the public and private sectors.

“Jerry’s broad C-suite experience and his passion for and accomplishments in re-engineering and technology development, human capital and cultural change, as well as strategic development, are exceptional complements to the board and will help make NYIT an even stronger, more distinguished university,” said Kevin Silva, chair of NYIT's board of trustees.

Most recently, Bailey served as CFO of the Institutional Clients Group at Citigroup Inc., from August 2011 until his retirement in October 2014. Previously he was CFO and chief information officer of Equiniti Ltd., a United Kingdom-based provider of administrative, processing, and payment solutions. He has also served as chief operating officer and CFO of NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange), as CFO of Marsh, Inc., as executive vice president and CFO at Dow Jones, and as CFO at Salomon Inc. and Salomon Brothers. Bailey also serves on the board of DST Systems, a global provider of technology-based service solutions.

“As a leading global educational institution, NYIT brings a unique value proposition across the fields of technology, human capital development, and health care, all of which are areas I bring deep passion for,” said Bailey. “I'm thrilled to be joining the distinguished board of trustees and look forward to participating in NYIT’s continued success.”
