An Evening of the World’s Best Short Films


Old Westbury, N.Y., April 18, 2006: New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Asbury Shorts of New York (ASNY) will present, An Evening of the World’s Best Short Films, on Saturday, May 6 at 7 p.m. The film show will be shown at Salten Hall on NYIT’s Old Westbury, N.Y., campus. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door beginning at 4 p.m. the day of the show.

The Asbury Shorts Film Show will showcase a collection of today’s most entertaining and fast-paced live action comedy, drama and animated independent short films, including the two-time film festival award winner, “SPIN,” from director Jamin Winans. The film recently won Best Live Action Short at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Best Short Film at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival.

Other works include “Zombie American,” starring Ed Helms of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” This hilarious comedy has picked up several awards at U.S. film festivals since 2004. Also being shown is “The Delivery Boy,” by Long Island’s own award-winning filmmaker Stephen Marro, whose film was a finalist at the prestigious Million Dollar Short Film Competition.
