Update: 5th Annual NYIT Energy Conference:

"Building a Sustainable Future"

The 2010 NYIT Energy Conference held on June 6, 2010, in New York City, broughout together a range of scholars, media, and energy businesses to discuss our path toward sustainability. The 2010 event included the following speakers:

  • Mr. Louis Nowikas, Director of Operations, Real Estate and Facility Planning, Hearst Corporation
  • Gavin Schmidt, Ph.D., NASA Godard Institute for Space Studies and creator of RealClimate.org
  • Joshua Wolfe, GHG Photos
  • Andrew Winston, author of Green to Gold and Green Recovery
  • Wendy Williams, author of Cape Wind
  • Leslie Jabs AIA from Gensler on High Performance Replacement Facades (Re-Skinning)
  • Diana Pangestu, Energy Smart Community Coordinator for NYSERDA on the new "Green NY" program

There was also a special multimedia performance at the end of the conference. Violinist Kenji Wiliams presented "Bella Gaia: A Poetic Vision of Earth from Space". A summary video is available at Youtube.

Continuing Education Credit

Attendees may also receive five continuing education hours applicable to re-registration as a professional engineer or registered architect.

Parking Rates:

To obtain NYIT parking rates, please park at: Prior Parking: West 61st Street (Between Columbus and Broadway). Please bring your parking ticket to the main NYIT security desk located at 1855 Broadway between 60/61. Indicate attendance at a conference at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway and request parking ticket validation.

Lunch:

Lunch will be held at O’Neals located at 49 West 64th Street. To walk from NYIT Auditorium on Broadway to O’Neals, make a left out the main entrance of the Auditorium. Walk to 64th Street. Make a right crossing over Broadway and O’Neals will be on your left side.
