Family Medicine Doctor Patient Relations

This innovative hands-on approach to learning is like no other course in medical school. Doctor-Patient Relations (DPR) is designed to allow student physicians to enhance their medical language and communication skills in physical examination, history taking, and SOAP note writing. Overall, the goal of DPR is to prepare these students to enter their third year clerkship rotations with the confidence and comfort necessary to become outstanding osteopathic physicians.

DPR meets Thursday mornings throughout first and second year of medical school. During every DPR session, students meet with their group facilitated by their assigned faculty member. The group discussion will concentrate on physical examination skills, interviewing skills, differential diagnosis and documentation skills.
