NYIT students are responsible for ensuring that all degree requirements listed in the catalog in effect on the date of their admission/readmission are fulfilled. NYIT faculty will review students' academic records and recommend them for graduation by signing and submitting a degree audit evaluation to the Registrar's Office. See NYIT's Graduation Evaluation Guidelines (PDF) for all information.
All candidates for graduation must apply online through NYITConnect at the beginning of their final semester. Refer to the Academic Calendar for deadline dates to apply. If you are not enrolled in an active academic program, contact the Office of the Registrar.
Ellis College of NYIT students: If you intend to participate in the commencement ceremonies, please submit the Intent to Graduate form by April 1 even if you have courses remaining after this date.
After your graduation request is processed, you will receive a letter from the Office of the Registrar detailing the status of your graduation application. Your status may be as follows:

You will not receive your diploma at commencement. The Office of the Registrar will notify you when your diploma is available, usually in 8-10 weeks after your date of graduation. Diplomas can be picked up at the Office of the Registrar by you or a designee. Please complete a Diploma Pick Up Form (PDF) and bring it to the Office of the Registrar along with photo identification. If you are unable to pick up your diploma, it can be mailed to you. Download a Diploma Mailing Request (PDF) to have the diploma sent to you.
Ellis College of NYIT students: you will not receive your diploma at commencement. A diploma will be mailed to you in 10-12 weeks after your date of graduation to the address specified on your Intent to Graduate form.
