Public Talk with Lama Ole Nydahl: What Happens When We Die? A Buddhist Perspective

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH)

The National Society of Minorities in Hospitality has grown tremendously from four visionary leaders at Cornell University in 1989, to over one thousand students across the country that continue to set the precedent for the future leaders of this industry. Today, NSMH is the premier professional organization for minority hospitality students.

Our mission is to educate in order to aid in the recruitment, retention, support, and advancement of minority students in the hospitality industry, and to build and maintain relationships between hospitality professionals and minority students in ways that encourage lifelong commitment to the organization. In fulfilling this mission, we address diversity and multiculturalism, as well as the career development of our student members. We feel that these lessons are important to the future leaders of this industry and that anyone of any ethnicity, gender, or other demographic group can find value in our conversation.

We provide events and programs that bring together college-level students with industry partners, hospitality organizations, advisors and mentors, and high school students interested in hospitality though our Students Taking Responsibility in Engineering New Growth Through Hospitality (STRENGTH) program. By integrating these stakeholders, NSMH aims to be a total resource center for aspiring hospitality professionals. NSMH also facilitates hospitality leaders finding dynamic talent as well as student access qualified professionals who answer industry-specific and professional development questions.

We welcome you to the NYIT Chapter of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality! You are invited to explore our site for information on programs, membership participation, chapter activities, the Annual National Conference, regional conferences, career fairs, interesting articles, upcoming events, and more!
