The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Learning System provides students with pertinent, cutting-edge knowledge that is directly applicable to establishing and maintaining a distinguished and successful career.
While the course's primary focus is to prepare individuals for the CMA exam, it is also a valuable academic and professional development program that will help professionals and students advance their skills in accounting, finance, and business management.
The CMA designation, which is granted by the Institute of Management Accountants (CMA), is an objective measure of knowledge and competence in the field of management accounting. It is an invaluable credential for professional advancement and for broadening professional skills and perspective. According to recent industry research, a certified professional earns approximately 25 percent more than a non-certified professional.
The CMA exam includes topics such as economics, business finance, situational analysis, and decision making, with a strong emphasis on ethics. Combined with relevant rule-based subject matter, the exam is designed to develop and measure critical thinking and decision-making skills. To find out about eligibility requirements and registration, visit the IMA Web site.
The IMA's CMA Learning system offers customized learning experience in management accounting in two courses, mirroring the two exam parts.
The certification review classes may be taken in any sequence.
Part 1 (XMGT-032): Financial Planning, Performance and Control
Part 2 (XMGT-033): Financial Decision Making
Each course offers a unique online self-assessment readiness tool and combines printed study materials with online, interactive testing and part-specific classroom sessions to deliver a comprehensive and customized learning experience in management accounting.
Through these courses, the student will learn the fundamental concepts and practices of management accounting and develop the analytical and test-taking skills for the CMA exams. Select this for information on the exams and eligibility requirements.
Amazing career potential!
"On average, CMAs earn more than $22,000 more in annual compensation than their noncertified peers." (IMA Annual Salary Survey, Strategic Finance, 2011)
