Eligibility for 3-Credit Undergraduate Internship

• Junior standing 
• Minimum GPA of 2.75

Eligibility for Zero-credit Internship (BUSI 290)

• Sophomore or higher standing
• At least one semester completed at NYIT with a minimum GPA of 2.0

Eligibility for Graduate Internship

• At least one semester completed at NYIT
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Requirements for Internship (Undergraduate & Graduate)

• The student needs to provide a  letter from the employer describing the position and the name of the direct supervisor 
• Permission from the department chair of the major area of study is required for registration of internship course, upon which a faculty advisor will be assigned 
• Minimum 150 hours of field experience (preferably over 14 weeks period)
• The student and faculty advisor develop learning objectives and meet periodically (minimum 3 times per semester)
• The student provides the advisor with a weekly activity log and writes a paper/report of minimum 5 pages that discusses the work experience, including a two page reflection on the impact of the work experience on the learning goals
• Register for the ICP with Office of Career Services
