NYIT Hospitality hosts South Korean Hallym University Study Abroad ProgramFrom July 16, 2012 until August 15, 2012 the NYIT School of Management's Department of Hospitality Studies will host eleven students and their Dean, Dr. Byung Don Choe from South Korean Hallym University at the NYIT Manhattan Campus.
During their stay Dean Choe and the students will partake in a variety of educational, professional, and cultural activities which will include such tours as the Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Waldorf=Astoria, Lincoln Center, the United Nations, and even a trip to the Brotherhood Winery, America's Oldest Winery. They will also hear from a variety of industry leaders including Mr. Rick Amato, Vice President of the New York City Hotel Association and Mr. Rocco LaForgia, Director of Worldwide Sales Accounts, Hilton Worldwide and President of NY Chapter for Professional Convention Management Association. In addition, the students will complete two courses during their visit to NYIT: Business Communications for Hospitality Students and Professional Hospitality Leadership Management.
The program promises to be a wonderful experience for all involved and was created by Dr. Robert J. Koenig, Associate Dean for the School of Management and Hospitality Studies Department and Ms. Julie Fratrick, Director of the Center for Global Academic Exchange.
