Dean’s Student Intern Program

NYIT’s School of Management invites you to participate in the Dean’s Student Intern Program, open to all qualified School of Management majors.
This unique internship and residency program is closely integrated with the School of Management’s professional enrichment program and experiential learning initiatives. It is a paid work experience that provides students with an opportunity to work closely with a member of the School of Management Leadership Team on an externally driven or applied project with a local business, student peers, or community partners.

Program Requirements

Eligible students should have earned a minimum of 60 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 3.0, both overall and in their major. Students selected for the program satisfy a residency requirement of 50 hours of guided work experience (start/end dates are flexible), led by a member of the School of Management Leadership Team. Positions are renewable. The pay scale for student interns is flexible and based on an interview with the dean, the student’s academic profile, the project proposal, and his/her professionalism and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Program Benefits

Students in the program enhance their professionalism in a number of ways. Specific skill set development varies by project, but often provides students with an opportunity to:

  • Engage in a unique experiential learning opportunity
  • Meet and network with business leaders and professionals in a diversified business arena
  • Strengthen leadership, organizational, and entrepreneurial skills
  • Learn about job opportunities and career choices
  • Receive, by way of mentorship with a member of the School of Management Leadership team, one-on-one training and invaluable information concerning business skill set development
  • Conduct site visits to meet with business leaders
  • Build their resumés by way of the semester residency requirement and job responsibilities developed with the school’s leadership team.

How do I apply?

Interested students should submit a cover letter and a current resumé to the office of the Dean of the School of Management and coordinate with the dean’s assistant to schedule an interview.
