NYIT-Bahrain Wins First Ajiaal League Title
The NYIT-Bahrain men's basketball team claimed the first Ajiaal Basketball League title in December, defeating rival Bahrain Training Institute 64-51. Students from universities throughout Bahrain participated in the tournament, which began last October under the auspices of Bahrain's minister of labour and the director of the United Nations Information Centre for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries. Batelco, Bahrain's principal telecommunications company, provided free use of the indoor basketball courts at its Hamala headquarters.
