Ken Kruger (M.S. ’83)

Current Position
President of Executive HealthSearch Inc., a White Plains, N.Y.-based search firm focused on the health care industry. Ken is also president of the Healthcare Human Resources Consulting Consortium LLC (also in White Plains), which provides consulting services for human resources management and labor relations agencies.

A Healthy Career
Prior to starting Executive HealthSearch, Ken served as vice president of human resources and labor relations at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where he implemented incentive pay programs in a unionized environment, designed a cost-effective flexible benefits program, and established an award-winning wellness program that resulted in a revenue-producing corporate product. He is also the past president of the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration and has presented and written extensively on topics related to labor relations and human resources. His most recent work is Aspen Publishers’ Health Care Human Resources Administration Manual.

Best Parts of My Day
“Successfully settling a collective bargaining agreement, making a placement with a client, or driving to Montauk, N.Y., to see the ocean.”

Professional Path
Ken chose NYIT because he wanted additional credentials to enhance his career in labor relations at Mount Sinai Medical Center. “NYIT had a good program and was convenient, with campuses in New York City and Long Island.”

Definition of Success
“Setting goals, achieving them, and happy clients.”

Favorite Food
“Italian, although I lean toward anything with chicken.”

Last Book Read
Dissolution by C.J. Sansom

Enjoying the Good Life
In his downtime, Ken enjoys cooking up new recipes as well as golfing, hiking, kayaking, spending time in Montauk, and watching the Mets. “I also have two terrific children, Keri and Kenny, of whom I am very proud.”
