Engineering Students Make a Clean Sweep

Students in NYIT’s School of Engineering and Computing Sciences captured first place (winning all matches) in the “Clean Sweep” event of the regional VEX Robotics Competition held on Feb. 20-21 in Baltimore, Md. The students designed, built, and programmed an innovative and autonomous remote-controlled robot that scored the highest number of points in the contest and also took home the best design award.

Team members included students in NYIT’s chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Pictured are (from left): Anthony Brown, IEEE chapter secretary; Robert Domingo; Robert P. Roman, IEEE chapter vice president; and Paul Ulezko, IEEE chapter president.
