Recreation Hall at NYIT-Old Westbury became an obstacle course on April 29 as student teams unveiled their designs for an automated water retrieval device during NYIT’s second annual Creative Contraptions Competition. Sponsored by the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences and funded by Roslyn Savings Bank, the competition encourages women’s participation in the fields of science and engineering. The winning team, “Two Guys, a Girl, and a Robot,” went home with the $1,500 first-place prize.
