School of Management Stephanie Langdon described how NYIT provided her with opportunities "a country girl from upstate New York could only have dreamed of."
Students, families, and special guests joined NYIT faculty, staff, and administration on May 23 to celebrate the accomplishments of more than 4,000 graduates at NYIT’s 49th annual commencement, held at NYIT-Old Westbury.

In addition to conferring degrees and certificates, NYIT President Guiliano, assisted by student marshals Iris Benn and Evgenia Sokolovskaya, awarded honorary doctorates to medical pioneer Richard Cooper and world-renowned futurist Raymond Kurzweil. Stephanie Langdon, who received her bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, served as the Class of 2010 speaker, reminding students that “Practical dreamers do not quit.”
Planning is already underway for next year’s commencement, which will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011. NYIT alumni are cordially welcomed back to campus to participate. For more information, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 516.686.7800 or alumni@nyit.edu.
