Homecoming Brings Together NYIT Community

Students, alumni and friends of NYIT came together under sunny skies for a fun-filled day of food, sports, music, rides and floats on May 6 for the college’s homecoming celebration at the Old Westbury campus. NYIT staff members greeted visitors, handed out T-shirts and other gifts, and provided information about alumni programs and events. The celebration also featured the crowning of “Miss NYIT,” behavioral sciences student Tamara Addison-Ross.

Guests also had an opportunity to commemorate their place in NYIT history by purchasing personalized Path of Achievement brick pavers that run across the Old Westbury campus. Proceeds support NYIT scholarships, academic programs and facilities.

Later, NYIT hosted the Asbury Shorts Film Festival, which featured award-winning national and international independent short films, as well as a project by an NYIT student.
