NYCOM Gives 'Paws' for Parkinson's

The Adele Smithers Parkinson’s Disease Treatment Center at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of NYIT teamed up with the Long Island chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) to co-sponsor the fourth annual “Howl-O-Ween” APDA Dog Walk in Massapequa, N.Y., to raise funds and awareness about Parkinson’s disease. Approximately $20,000 was raised at the four-legged walkathon, which also featured an agility demonstration as well as contests for best dog costume and best trick.

NYCOM Clinical Associate Professor Enrico Fazzini, D.O., Ph.D., and Adele C. Smithers-Fornaci were among the judges of the best dog costume and best trick competitions.
