Discovering NYIT
As a PR professional serving technology clients in Manhattan, I was recently conducting an online search for information on wireless networks. That's when I came across an article in NYIT Magazine. The piece described new wireless networks in your student dorms, and it also reconnected me with an old colleague, your college's editorial director.
Although I've been in New York for nearly 15 years, I unfortunately had only a passing acquaintance with NYIT. After exploring the magazine's Web site, I'm even more convinced that perhaps too many of us in this industry automatically equate technology innovation with the West Coast.
From now on, I'll stress that there's a quality institution right here in my backyard.

Familiar Face
My wife and I were thumbing through NYIT Magazine and couldn't believe our eyes. There was Professor Ed Kafrissen standing next to a student, still knee deep in technology.
I can only hope that after so many years and a sea of student faces that Dr. Kafrissen might remember me. I was a member of the class of '75 and just wanted to send a note to say hello.
I've been working with technology since graduating from NYIT. First as a field service technician for Burroughs Corp., then six years at Grumman Data Systems. Then came 22 years working with voice, data and video communications systems within the brokerage industry. I'm now working as a consultant.
A few years ago my folks gave me several yellowed pages from an old Newsday. The article was about a group of NYIT students building a hybrid electric car on an Old Westbury campus.
I'm pleased to see that the advancements continue today, as documented in NYIT Magazine.
Thanks for so many great memories, not to mention the education!

Hello From AFAR
Congratulations to your staff and faculty on NYIT Magazine's quality. Such a fine print and online publication must involve lots of effort, planning and thoughtfulness. Good job.
Please keep it up.
As a graduate living in Nigeria, I must admit that receiving NYIT Magazine is a treat. From what I've read, lots of changes have taken place since I studied at the Manhattan campus. I look forward to reading about NYIT's continued advances.

Medical Wonders
I must commend your coverage of NYIT's medical school, the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. You did an outstanding job highlighting NYCOM's 25th anniversary in your "Proud Tradition, Vibrant Future" editorial package. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous and the articles superb, especially your "Driven to Succeed" piece. Thank you so much for your efforts to promote NYIT and its alumni.
