Your Views on NYIT
Blue-Chip Readers
I stumbled upon NYIT Magazine in IBM's lobby in White Plains [N.Y.]. I'm not sure how it got there, but I spent about 30 minutes reading the issue as I waited for my appointment.
According to most published research from companies like Dataquest and International Data Corp., 50 percent of technology projects fail because of poor planning, poor execution or both.
Yet your magazine says NYIT has recently deployed a broadband network, new phone systems and a redesigned Web site. Apparently, NYIT understands that technology can be an asset and a competitive advantage-when managed correctly.
If I ever pursue a master's degree in computer science, I'll be knocking on your door.

I truly enjoyed the first edition of NYIT Magazine. The publication's sleek and glossy look is stupendous. The content also is excellent.
I enjoyed reading about NYIT's technological initiatives and its new broadband network. I only regret that I've graduated and cannot benefit from this new technology.
I also enjoyed hearing from NYIT President Edward Guiliano. I had him as a professor for a poetry class in 1982. His enthusiasm for poetry, literature and learning left a lasting impression.
When can I expect to receive more issues of your fine magazine?

We publish in the fall, spring and summer. In the meantime, you can read this magazine online (www.nyit.edu/magazine) or review Dr. Guiliano's latest speeches from events around the world (www.nyit.edu/president). In other words, you can take advantage of NYIT's technological enhancements from afar.-Ed.
Start-Up Fever
I am a senior at NYIT and I've also launched my own Internet business with my brother and a close friend.
The "Sitting Pretty" article offered valuable information for eager entrepreneurs like us.
Our Internet business (www.questformuscle.com) is an online service that specializes in creating personal training programs for fitness, bodybuilding, power lifting and various sports-related information. We are also developing diets, nutritional products and our own line of vitamins and supplements for better health.
After I earn my bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, I plan to attend medical school.

Can We Talk?
As a designer at heart, I must say that your magazine's layout is fantastic. Please continue to do such a fine job.
I work with three other NYIT alumni at the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, a wonderful, nonprofit organization that continues to grow before my eyes. I've been director of communications for most of my five years here.
Thanks again for the wonderful magazine.

No Free Lunch
I give NYIT Magazine high marks. My only concern is the advertising. Must you subject NYIT alumni to printed commercials? If you depend on these ads to support the magazine, I'd rather see a magazine that costs less to produce.

We welcome constructive criticism and thank you for your thoughts. Advertisements serve several purposes in NYIT Magazine. For instance, they strengthen the college's relationships with blue-chip partners. They also provide instant clout, as we seek to work with top photographers, writers and editors from around the world. We hope these benefits outweigh your concerns.-Ed.
