NYIT LI News Tonight was a nightly television newscast produced on the Old Westbury, New York campus of the New York Institute of Technology, as both a community service to Nassau and Suffolk counties and an internship opportunity where students learned all about getting a job in television news.
People like ESPN´s Brian Kenny, Fox News Channel´s Patti Ann Browne, MSNBC´s Milissa Rehberger, and News 12 Long Island anchor Elizabeth Hashagen all got their start at NYIT LI News Tonight.
But don´t take our word for it. Here´s what some of our reporters had to say about us:
"At each point of the journey, LI News Tonight was there to steady us and provide guidance; but like a wise parent, the program allowed each of us to find our own way–to rise from those stumbles, try again and eventually run to glory." – WNBC-TV reporter Greg Cergol
"Without LI News Tonight, I not only wouldn’t be at ESPN, I wouldn’t be in the business." – Brian Kenny, ESPN
