The Vagina Monologues is a play based on many stories/interviews that the creator, Eve Ensler, ascertained from women over the years. These interviews address women's sexuality and the social stigma surrounding rape and abuse. The play is just one aspect of the V-Day Campaign, a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls.
This year's production of the Vagina Monologues included both first and second year students and was produced and supported by AMWA and OB/GYN clubs. The show, as well as the corresponding bake sale, raised almost $800 to donate to the V-Day Campaign.
