The Accelerated D.O./Family Medicine Residency Continuum is designed to meet the need for family medicine physicians in the community. Students receive an intensive focus, beyond the traditional medical school curriculum, that prepares them specialize in the field of family medicine. By accelerating all requirements for graduation from Osteopathic Medical School to 3 years instead of the traditional 4 years, these future physicians are available to meet the needs of the community more rapidly than in the traditional model. In addition, the participants incur less personal debt. Finally, the quality of education is enhanced by the addition of 'value added' coursework throughout the 2nd and 3rd years of medical school.
