Free Yoga NYIT Athletics invites students to attend free evening yoga classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. in the Bears Den, Old Westbury campus. Participants need to supply their own mat and bring a towel and water bottle. For questions, call 516.686.7626.
Carnevale NYIT's Italian club, Il Circolo Italiano, presents Carnevale, a festival of Italian culture, on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 6-8 p.m. in Salten Hall, room 1. Food and music will be provided.
Prep Course - Certified Energy Manager Exam The NYIT School of Engineering and Computing Sciences and the Long Island chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers will provide a five-day preparation course for the Certified Energy Manager exam, Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 22 at the Old Westbury campus. Valentine's Day Grab & Go Get freebies on Thursday, Feb. 14, 12:45 p.m. in Harry Schure Hall Lobby, Old Westbury campus. The Campus Programming Board will be giving out free CandyGrams and selling carnations for $2. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.
Valentine's Day Chef's Demo NYIT Dining Services will host a love-themed chef's demonstration and luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 14, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, Old Westbury campus. An Evening with Entrepreneurs The NYIT School of Management and the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies invites students and their guests to an open discussion by alumni entrepreneurs on Thursday, March 7, 6-9:30 p.m. at 16 W. 61st St., 11th floor, NYIT-Manhattan. The event, "An Evening with the Entrepreneurs: A Networking and Learning Opportunity," will include presentations, a Q&A session, and a buffet dinner. Read more.
Safety Conference NYIT will host this year’s American Society of Safety Engineers Professional Development Conference on Wednesday, March 20, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in Salten Hall, Old Westbury campus. The event will feature a keynote address by Anthony Ciuffo, area director of the Long Island office of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Cost is $40 per student. 3rd Annual Relay for Lunch Help support NYIT's Relay for Life and the Student Government Association to raise much-needed funds toward their $50K goal on Thursday, April 4, 12:30 p.m. in the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, Old Westbury campus. The buffet luncheon is donated by NYIT Dining Services. Cost is a $25 minimum donation. Payments will be accepted at the door; make checks payable to the American Cancer Society.
