Optimism Walk and Paws for Parkinson’s Event Raise money for Parkinson's disease on Saturday, Oct. 6 and enjoy activities such as a 1.3-mile walk, a "Halloween Hounds" doggie costume contest, prizes, raffles, giveaways, and refreshments at Belmont Lake State Park, Babylon, N.Y. The rain-or-shine event runs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and is sponsored by the Adele Smithers Parkinson’s Disease Treatment Center at NYIT. Read more.
Camping Trip Bond with NYIT students, learn self-defense skills, and experience the beauty of upstate New York on a camping trip from Saturday, Oct. 6 to Monday, Oct. 8 at the Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville, N.Y. Cost is $20. Register for the trip.

Registration and a continental breakfast begin at 9 a.m. The walk starts at 10 a.m., with a 5K path that is handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be served during the walk.
