New York City Events NYIT's Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development has planned events for the fall 2013 semester ranging from a Comic Con outing to a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. View a schedule.

Game Night Every Friday, NYIT's chapter of the Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity hosts a gaming event at 8:30 p.m. at 26 W. 61st St., basement gaming room, Manhattan campus.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum See all your favorite celebrities at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum on Saturday, Sept. 21, noon-5 p.m. at 234 W. 42nd St., New York City. For more information about ticket pricing, email the NYIT-Manhattan Student Government Association at sgamaprogram@nyit.edu.

National Voter Registration Day Register to vote on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Read more.

December 2013 Grads Application Deadline Students planning to graduate in December 2013 must apply for graduation by Friday, Sept. 27. Read more.

Mexico and Belize Trip Tour Mayan archeological sites with NYIT's Vocational Independence Program, Jan. 2-11, 2014. This is a great opportunity to visit the Yucatan Peninsula, learn about Mayan Culture, visit the El Castillo Pyramid and enjoy the beautiful tropical breezes and beaches in Playa del Carmen. Fright Fest Get spooked with the Student Government Association at NYIT-Manhattan on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Six Flags Great Adventure, 1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson, N.J. A bus will depart from the Edward Guiliano Global Center, 1855 Broadway, at 8 a.m., and return to Manhattan at 11 p.m. Cost is $20 for NYIT students; $30 for their guests. Order tickets.

Yoga and Pilates Classes Get fit with free yoga and pilates classes hosted by NYIT Athletics on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:45-1:45 p.m. in Recreation Hall, Old Westbury campus. Bring your own mat (at least a half-inch thick), towel, and water bottle, and dress in workout gear, not street clothing.

Benjamin J. Cecil 5K Walk for Independence Join the NYIT Vocational Independence Program for its annual walk to support a scholarship in memory of former student Benjamin J. Cecil on Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. at 300 Carleton Ave., Independence Hall, Central Islip, N.Y. Cost is $25. The 5K path is handicap accessible, and refreshments will be served during the walk. Doo Wop Fundraiser Attend a Doo Wop concert for a cause on Sunday, Oct. 6, 3-5:30 p.m. in Riland Auditorium, Old Westbury campus. Cost is $25 per person. Pay at the door or send a check payable to NYIT to: Susan Christie, Riland Academic Health Care Center, room 34, Old Westbury campus. Proceeds benefit NYIT's Adele Smithers Parkinson's Disease Treatment Center. 

Out in the Workplace Attend an event about building inclusive environments for LGBT students and employees on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 5:30-8 p.m. at the KPMG Heritage Center, 345 Park Ave., New York City. There will be a panel discussion and networking session. Register for the event by Monday, Sept. 30.

TEDxNYIT You're invited to a TEDxNYIT event on Thursday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, Manhattan campus. Entrepreneurs and leaders will explore the theme of meta resiliency one year after Hurricane Sandy. Order tickets.

STEAM Fairs Students majoring in science, technology, engineering, architecture, and math (STEAM) subjects should attend career fairs, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 31 in Manhattan (16 W. 61 St., 11th Floor Auditorium) and Thursday, Nov. 7 in Old Westbury (Sports Complex).

National Center for Student Leadership Conference Apply for this conference slated for Thursday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 24 in New Orleans, La. There is a $15 application fee. Deadline is Friday, Oct. 11. Register online.

Cut 'n' Paste: From Architectural Assemblage to Collage City Architectural renderings created for NYIT's design of a recycling center in Costa Rica will be included in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art through Sunday, Dec. 1 at 11 W. 53 St., New York City. Read more.
