Students Around Town: Engineering and Advocacy Days

Feb 20 2014

What have you been up to in February? Check out photos of students at recent NYIT events, including Student Advocacy Day and Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. If you have photos of campus life, post them on NYIT's Facebook page, and we'll feature them in the next Student Update.

Engineering Day

At Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day on Feb. 20, NYIT students at the Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses participated in presentations and workshops. Pictured is a drone-flying demonstration by NYIT-Old Westbury students representing the Society of Women Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Society of Automotive Engineers.

Advocacy Day

NYIT students joined more than 600 peers from 55 campus groups on Feb. 11 in Albany, N.Y., for the Commission of Independent Colleges and Universities' annual Student Advocacy Day. Pictured left to right are: Ronny Perez, Yordy Zapata, Loudmia Mesilas, Assemblyman N. Nick Perry, Jasson Jiminez Garcia, and Yvette Canales.
