Students Around Town - Cinco de Mayo, MayFest, Car Show

NYIT students have made the most of the final days of the spring 2013 semester. They celebrated Cinco de Mayo in China; gathered for dinner in Manhattan; had fun at MayFest, hosted a car show, and took the 2013 Student Life Satisfaction Survey in Old Westbury; and won an award in the New York State Business Plan Competition in Albany, N.Y.

NYIT Students at Restaurant Depot

The NYIT-Old Westbury Society of Hosteurs toured Restaurant Depot on April 29. Students learned about product grading and quality assessment at the food wholesaler.


Members of the Society of Automotive Engineers held the NYIT student chapter's first car show on April 27 at the Old Westbury campus. They donated $311 in event proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit group that helps wounded U.S. veterans and service members. Read more.

New York State Business Plan Competition

NYIT students William Yu (pictured center, School of Architecture) and Dhruv Patel (pictured second from right, School of Management) competed on April 26 in the New York State Business Plan Competition in Albany, N.Y. Their team Home2O won the People's Choice Award. Read more.

Induction Ceremony

Ten students were inducted into NYIT’s Zeta Lambda chapter of XAE, the Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society, on April 23 in Manhattan. Read more.
