NYIT students in a course on meetings, events, conventions, and expositions planned the "Music Event for Diabetes," a service-learning project at NYIT-Old Westbury. The Dec. 2 event attracted nearly 150 attendees and raised $1,340 for diabetes research. Seven bands competed for a cash award, multiple vendors rented booths, and dozens of auction items were donated to raise money for the American Diabetes Association.
