Tuesday, Feb. 18

Event: Nelson Mandela’s Legacy
Time: 5-7 p.m.
Learn about the achievements of the late Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first black president.

Thursday, Feb. 20

Event: Movie Night
Time: 5-9 p.m.
View Lee Daniels’ The Butler starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey.

Thursday, Feb. 27

Event: Trivia Night
Time: 4:30-7 p.m.
Test your knowledge of black history at this event.

Event: Campus Conversation
Time: 12:30-1:50 p.m.
Location: Salten Hall, room 3
Join the NYIT Community Service Center for a discussion about racism.

Thursday, Feb. 27

Event: Shine a Light on Slavery Day
Time: 12:30-1:50 p.m.
Location: Harry Schure Hall Lobby
Embrace the End It Movement and draw a red X on your hand to show support for ending sex and labor trafficking. You’ll receive information on how slavery still exists and have the opportunity to write letters to rescued victims of human trafficking.
