Apply for a Digital Internship at Newsday

Long Island's newspaper, Newsday, is seeking interns for summer and fall 2013 at newsday.com. There are a limited number of paid internship positions (20 hours per week, $13 per hour) as well as for-credit, unpaid internships.

The summer internship program runs for 10 weeks and is designed for students and recent graduates interested in a career in software development or design with a focus on web and mobile publishing.

Students will have the opportunity to work in a hands-on newsroom in Melville, N.Y., where they will design and write CSS for webpages, build interactive features using Javascript, jQuery and Ajax, and develop web applications with Newsday's Java-based content management system.

Interns are sought in the following areas:

  • Web and mobile design, CSS, HTML
  • Javascript, template development, and PHP/mySQL
  • Java development
  • Quality assurance and testing
