NYIT Architects Announce Kickstarter Campaign for Roofing Project NYIT architecture professors and students have launched a kickstarter campaign to raise money for constructing a model of their patented water bottle roofing system, with the goal of raising $32,500 by Thursday, Nov. 15. The project began in 2011, when the team designed a Soda Bottle Interface Bracket (short for SodaBIB), a key element of the roofing system, and NYIT later received a provisional patent for it. The team soon realized SodaBIB's potential for business partnerships and providing emergency shelter for people in developing countries. ...more

HEOP Students Participate in Cultural Exchange

Students from the NYIT Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program learned about the culture of students visiting from Colombia and Ecuador of the International YMCA's Youth Ambassador Program on Sept. 21 in Central Park. The cultural exchange organized by the Community Service Center (CSC) at NYIT-Manhattan included discussion of customs, native languages, family lives, food, and more. Thank you to Dyesha Durm, assistant student director of the CSC, and Emmanuel Sanchez, president of NYIT's chapter of the Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society, who helped to coordinate this event.
