The rules are simple: choose a creative format (video, 800-word essay, digital design, or webpage) to discuss your inspiration in the field of technology and innovation as well as future goals for your career. Students Make Strides Against Breast Cancer

Students and staff members representing NYIT's Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) participated in a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Oct. 21 in Central Park, New York City. This year’s walk was coordinated by the club S.W.A.G., which stands for Students Working to Achieve Greatness (S.W.A.G.) Their efforts raised more than $440 to support research and provide care in the fight against breast cancer.

NYIT Volunteers Occupy Sandy in Brooklyn and Far Rockaway On Nov. 10, nine NYIT students, two guests, and two staff members met in Sunset Park Brooklyn at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church, one of several Occupy Sandy relief hubs located throughout New York City. Students and staff registered with the volunteer group and participated in a brief orientation program. Several students opted to stay at the church to help with Occupy Sandy efforts by sorting and organizing much-needed goods to be sent to affected families, while others traveled to Far Rockaway to help with recovery efforts in the beach community. ...more

Volunteer Events in Brooklyn and Long Island - Nov. 10 NYIT is teaming with St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Brooklyn and the American Red Cross on Long Island to provide relief to hurricane victims on Saturday, Nov. 10. In Brooklyn, volunteers will be collecting, sorting, and distributing supplies to families in need.
